Things to do in Green Bay WI
There are lots of things to do in Green Bay WI. During the fall and winter, the most popular thing to do in Green Bay is to go to a Packer game. Even if you've been to a professional football game before, there is nothing like Lambeau Field. Lambeau Field has a rich history and you feel it as soon has you walk in. I've personally brought fans of opposing teams to a Packer game and as soon as they walk into Lambeau, they're Packer fans. Inside Lambeau you'll also find the Packer Hall of Fame. Most Packer fans that are coming to Lambeau for the first time often arrive a little early so they can spend some time at the Packer Hall of Fame. You'll also want to make sure you save some time for tailgating too.
Once you've decided to come to Green Bay WI to go to a Packer game, you have to stop at a few of the great restaurants around Lambeau. Probably one of the most popular is right across from Lambeau on the Ridge Rd side, Krolls West. Krolls offers some awesome food and my favorite is the Perch dinner. Just a couple of blocks to the east, past the Don Hutson center, is the Brett Favre Steakhouse. Brett Favre's Steakhouse has some excellent food, all be it expensive, such as prime rib, steaks, and Brett's favorite cajun foods. Brett Favre's Steakhouse also serves as a mini museum to Brett Favre's career. You're free to walk around and see pictures of Brett Favre, his MVP trophy and lots of other memorabilia.
For families, nothing beats Bay Beach Amusement Park. There is no entry free and the rides cost very little to get on. Bay Beach Amusement Park is located right on the Bay of Green Bay on the east side of Green Bay. The most expensive ride costs $1. Most are between $0.25 and $0.50 and in this economy, this is a price you can't beat. You're not going to find any thrill rides like Six Flags offers, but if you have kids between the ages of 2 and 12, Bay Beach is a great place to take them.
The Green Bay Botanical Garden is another popular destination and is located on the west side of Green Bay. The Green Bay Botanical Garden is open year round although the hours vary depending on the time of year. It costs $7 for adults, $2 for kids under 13 and free for kids 4 and under. With 47 acres of gardens, it's well worth the cost of admission.
